Public Speaking - Year 7 speech writing
Maisie in Year 7 has written a powerful speech on the theme of Kindness - really appropriate in the current climate. Thank you, Maisie. True words indeed:
Kindness
The topic I have picked to talk about today is
kindness.
Kindness is a type of behaviour marked by acts of
generosity, consideration or concern for others without expecting praise or
reward.
There are many ways of acting kindly towards others, such
as:
·
Being a good listener
·
Helping others
·
Simply smiling at someone
·
Treating people to gifts, or being generous
·
Giving honest compliments
Being kind has many benefits, including increased happiness
and a healthy heart!
Kindness and empathy help us to relate to other people and
have positive relationships with frieds, family and even strangers.
Kindness releases feel-good hormones; it boosts your serotonin
which is responsible for feelings of satisfaction and well-being.
Kindness eases anxiety.
Kindness leaves a lasting impression on people.
Kindness is good for your heart. By being nice to others, it can affect the
actual chemical balance in your heart.
Kindness can significantly increase levels of happiness and
reduce stress levels.
Kindness is not something that demands hard work; it takes
simple acts of doing no harm to others.
Kindness is sharing the best part of our hearts with those
around us.
ALWAYS
be kind
Beautifully written Maisie, well done. We all need to show a bit of kindness.
